~ When Adversity Comes ~
1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1 Peter 5:8 (NIV)
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
Our enemy, Our adversary the devil raises his ugly head in an attempt to reach out and destroy each and every one of us by any means possible. As Christians under the protection of the WORD of GOD, we have a GREAT ALLY that is firmly rooted in our hearts and bodies, we are THE BODY of CHRIST. If we are not focused on the LORD, having our daily study time along with prayer, supplication, and meditation our minds are vulnerable to the constant bombardment of implanted thoughts through the fiery darts of disaster, worry, doubt, and fear.
1 Kings 5:4 (KJV)
But now the LORD my GOD hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.
1 Kings 5:4 (NIV)
But now the LORD my GOD has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or disaster.
It is a struggle for every Christian when things do get difficult in our trials and tribulation but as Christians we have HOPE in the PROMISES of GOD. There are those in our lives, others that we know, and even those that we have never met that are running from GOD for various reasons. They have either been raised to know GOD or have never been introduced to our GOD, the ONE GOD that brings LOVE, JOY, and PEACE even in the most destructive moments of the adversaries attack. These are the ones that our adversary targets and without knowing the HOPE that GOD gives worry, doubt, fear, hopelessness, and even suicidal thoughts creep in, in an overwhelming flood of pain. There seems no way out, no other option and then as the fiery darts sink ever deeper the voices start invading the innermost parts leaving a battered victim on the verge of entering eternal damnation unless you answer GOD’s call of DIVINE appointment.
Job 31:35 (KJV)
Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the ALMIGHTY would answer me, and that mine adversary had written a book.
Job 31:35 (NIV)
(“Oh, that I had someone to hear me! I sign now my defense–let the ALMIGHTY answer me; let my accuser put his indictment in writing.
The DIVINE appointment that makes the difference, the appointment that GOD sets on HIS time not yours. HE will place you in a position to reach out to that person being attacked by the adversary. GOD sees and hears each person that HE is calling from afar and know what they are experiencing, HE also knows who is where and who is willing to keep the appointment to intervene. GOD knows who will stop what they are doing to take the time and take that person by the hand a say a prayer for the one that is hurting. To GOD every life is precious and the loss of a life before they have come to ask for forgiveness for the sins in their life and asking JESUS to be their LORD and SAVIOR greatly grieves GOD. The LORD is calling someone right now with a DIVINE appointment.
Deuteronomy 15:7 (KJV)
If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy GOD giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:
Deuteronomy 15:7 (NIV)
If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the LORD your GOD is giving you, do not be hard-hearted or tight-fisted toward your poor brother.
Micah 7:19 (KJV)
HE will turn again , HE will have compassion upon us; HE will subdue our iniquities; and THOU wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
Micah 7:19 (NIV)
YOU will again have compassion on us; YOU will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.
Will you be the one to hear HIS call?
Luke 21:36 (KJV)
Watch ye therefore, and PRAY always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the SON of man.
In closing, remember to PRAY ALWAYS not only for yourself but for those that do not know how to PRAY. We serve the ONE and ONLY GOD that requires us to PRAY WITHOUT CEASING. The reason for this is that we never know when the LORD will need us for HIS purpose. If you are thinking of someone in particular right now perhaps GOD has put that person on your heart, stop what you are doing and PRAY for that person. You never know what is going on in that person’s life or the possible results of the adversarial attacks. Remember when GOD is in control all things are under control.
